Charterhouse expands into Immigration and associated services
Ramsey-based Charterhouse Group International has launched immigration and associated services following its acquisition of the IMPI Group. The acquisition, which completed in June 2007, has provided the group with the necessary technical expertise, experience and compliance to assist individuals to successfully enter the UK.
Over the summer months associated services in the form of relocation assistance, schengen visas, travel visas, UK tax returns and tax rebate assistance have also been developed under the company’s new Smooth Group brand. Information on these services can be found on www.mysmoothgroup.com.
The new immigration and relocation services are primarily aimed at South Africans, Australians and New Zealanders wanting to move to the UK to work. The company already had an established operation out in Australia and has set up a new company in South Africa to offer these services to the local market.
Iain Messenger, CEO of Charterhouse Group International, commented: "Charterhouse faced an uncertain future back in March this year following the announcements made by the UK Chancellor regarding the use of limited companies by temporary workers. We refused to bury our heads in the sand and immediately embarked on identifying other services that we could develop or acquire that would complement our UK employment structure administered from our offices here in Ramsey.
"The acquisition of the IMPI Group of businesses gave us an excellent head start in terms of the services they offered and the calibre of their staff. In a very short timescale we have achieved the redevelopment of these services to appeal to a wider customer base, set up a South Africa Operation which started trading in September with a brand new relocation service called Smooth Landings that we have also rolled out to our established Australian operation, and completed the integration of IMPI Group into Charterhouse.
