Community and Sponsorship

Charterhouse supports its local community by providing financial support for charities and organisations with which its staff are involved with.

We also sponsor local events and festivals and have close links with local schools. With over 80% of our staff living within a 5 mile radius of our administration office we regard ourselves as a principal investor in the local community.

Protecting the Environment

Following feedback from staff in 2006, the company embarked on a range of initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint. These initiatives ranged from switching off PCs, photocopiers and printers at the end of the day to purchasing fair trade produce and refreshments for vending machines in our offices.

In 2007 we launched the FPS Umbrella service and took a conscious decision to market this service over the internet and via email. This approach considerably reduces our use of paper, petrol (for delivery of brochure stocks), printing inks and postage (envelopes and parcels). In addition we have an internal policy of sending emails instead of distributing printed documents, minimising printing and using unwanted printouts and obsolete letterheads for notepaper and for printing draft copies.

It is also our policy, wherever possible, to source from suppliers with environmental policies similar to our own.
